Today on December 12th 2018 has been a warm and sunny day in Palm Springs, so relaxing on our south facing patio is of course our favorite. But NOT when a coyote comes to visit you – and this happened when my wife was relaxing there at midday. A lonesome coyote payed her a visit at our closed community in central Palm Springs by the Mesquite Golf course, approaching my wife just a couple of yards away. It started slowly to jog around the green area between houses when I got a shot of it, see below.
Already a few days ago we saw a coyote running around at dusk and a pile of coyote poop had been dropped at the same time directly in front of our main door. But a coyote approaching you at midday, and so close? Our grandchild used to play around the green area alone just a few days ago and we really told her not to do that alone. Our fears were obviously justified. It is very clear that small pets should not run around these green areas freely – coyotes have been known to be hungry and attacking especially smaller animals even if they are alone.
